"Don't Panic"
Hey guys.
Today is the big day - pi day, Einstein's birthday and even Giovanni Virginio Schiaparelli's birthday, as google proudly proclaims today.
It's also the MIT RA decisions release day.
I'm about as nervous as you, reading those words. As I write, there are about 5 more hours to go.
Much like a lot of folk on the 500+(!) comment thread on Matt's announcement post, I'm also telling myself that I didn't get in and that when I'll log into the decisions site I'll be fine with the result because I'm already braced for rejection. Cheating myself like that :P
But you know something? I went dancing at an alternative rock night club last night and had a blast. I woke up half an hour ago and I'm a hell of a lot more relaxed than I would have been had I stayed at home and worried over today.
I had fun, and it has made the wait fly by. In those 5 hours remaining to all of us, I suggest we all find something fun to do. Me? I'm going to play some computer games and read a good book. I'll also be in the chat event in a few hours.
I'll take a look at the decisions when I'll feel ready for it. Maybe I'll get a nice surprise. Maybe I won't... but I'll always remember the pi weekend as a weekend I had fun on.

Lucky you Michelle- you get to read a nice book. Haha I'm stuck with Calculus-prep for my mock exam this Monday. :-(
Like you, I braced myself for rejection even before I submitted my application. So ha!

on last thursday we had technical report writing class, teacher asked about what's the function of bridge in civil engineering.
here's my note
bridge:reduces the danger of jumping
with bridge you can safely jump
you can jump safely with bridge
bridge brings the possibility of a safe jump
do not panic to jump when you see a bridge
stand on the edge of the bridge and jump
i write it on the other side of gemoodle registration guide, because there was some whitespace and i have been kicked out of moodle before
