"A Final Tribute"
So. This is how it ends, unless I transfer, or make it to Grad School or lecture at MIT or ...you get the point. I will not be removing myself from this hack site because, as Colton said, we didn't work to turn round and delete it.
I got a bit of a tribute I made before decisions. As you know, I love playing around with mercury. So.
Rejection feels pathetic but we take it in the hope that life may provide us with consolation. It's only hope.
Being part of this hack was awesomeness. The people you see writing here may not be admits but awesome people they are. I've been lucky to meet them. I really have.
To MIT: Gawd, I love you. This isn't the last you'll see.
To my fellow hackers: I'd sing in Mandarin for you, I'd even wear pink for you. You guys are the best. I love all of you. May the force of Sirius Black be with you :).
To all the bloggers on .org: You guys saved me in the eleventh when I was depressed. You guys rock. And you're lucky. Just remember what you guys were like when you wrote your first blog post on .org because occasionally, you'll change.
To Colton and Ahana:
Colt, you're the coolest guy I know. And you wrote Apex. Period. Remember Kennywood.
Ahana, there's always the bus, but other stuff too. "zzz.zz.z.z. . .. . . .. . Pfft."
You guys are my Ron-Hermione. Although I don't know if you'll get married LOL.
To Ashwath: I'm sorry for making fun of you at times but thanks for putting up with high-me.
To Michelle: You're adorable. No, really.
To Corey: I hope you make it big. 6.
To Fiona: I hope I see you someday. Till then, rock on.
To Enoch: Talk more. Seriously.
To Ben Jones: I wish you were at MIT. Not because of admissions, but because your posts were beautiful.
To Matt: I said I wanted to hug you for your niceness. And so I will, even though I'm not a hug-y person. *hug*
To applicants of the future classes: MIT is hard to get into, not because of grades or Extra-Curriculars or whatever else. It's because you never know what gets you in. And remember, if I hear you discussing scores, I'll curse you.
To the Class of 2013: Thanks for supporting this hack. Have all the fun you can. May you have the best Brass Rat ever.
To people with bad grammar/punctuation: PLEASE improve.
To anyone rejected: I'm a Green Day worshipper. So, naturally:
Another turning point;
a fork stuck in the road.
Time grabs you by the wrist;
directs you where to go.
So make the best of this test
and don't ask why.
It's not a question
but a lesson learned in time.
It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.
So take the photographs
and still frames in your mind.
Hang it on a shelf
In good health and good time.
Tattoos of memories
and dead skin on trial.
For what it's worth,
it was worth all the while.
It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.
*
I wrote another poem. Here's the end:
In the shadow of the dusty palm trees,
We could be whoever we wanted to be.
But it is time. To leave.
*
This is probably my last post here. Writing that was harder than you think.
Make the most of what you have, and remember the Tree. Feel free to email me/IM.
Ladies and gentlemen, and bots, it was truly an honour.
For the last time,
Yours Truly,
Tree.
